Buster Bones - Six Feet Down And Rising

by Marquis & The Rhythm Howlers

So much love from the Buster Bones team has gone into this record. Starting with the magical illustrations of Brian Kesinger and the truly mind warping creative skills of artisan Matt Scott of Rasputin's Marionettes infamy. The graphic design cohesion par exellence is by Mark Berry and really seals it. All this has been brought together by the otherworldly forces of the late Bob Self & the ongoing forces of Baby Tattoo Publishing. I was brought on to supply music & it was one of the most enjoyable projects I've been lucky enough to work on.

You've got here a beautiful 7" vinyl record housed in a picture sleeve with none other than our dear Buster adorned adorably all over. A double sided insert AND a fully illustrated inner sleeve! So much Buster you just might bust!

It’s a twisted bit of backwoods rhythm Hear the ghosts & go get with ‘em These strings are cut from electric wire Six feet down & rising Yesterday has all the feeling Here today has got you reeling Walk the roads like a broken soul Six feet down & rising Friends go by but they can’t see me Love is lost in my memory Where have all the flowers gone? Six Feet Down & rising Time is just way too fickle The minutes pull, the hours trickle Look into my hallow eyes Six Feet Down & Rising There’s a lot of life in this dead thing yet Hold the line and dress the fret Dip your shoes in trophy bronze Earn that ground you walk on Mama knows you ain’t no square Pull some magic from out of thin air Picking out dirt from every suture Got the strength to change my future I’m the one I want to be Six feet down & rising The end is just a new beginning My grin is full of what I’m winning Walk the road & join with me Six feet down & rising Six feet down & rising Six feet down & rising

My Epitaph 02:41
After life I die, I die After you I cry, oh I cry Memories cutting words on my grave I think I'm gonna write myself an Epitaph Gather all my sickness in a paragraph A sonnet for my sins & how the end begins A severed joy A twisted ploy Bury me with all my toys I think I'm gonna write down all the reasons why I ever did give you to make you cry Cut loose my rotten side with gin formaldehyde Pull my teeth & gouge my eyes Keep me under your spell I think I'm gonna write down all the reasons why I ever did give you to make you cry Cut loose my rotten side with gin formaldehyde Pull my teeth & gouge my eyes Keep me under your spell

about

Buster Bones' theme song! He's a brave little skeleton & he's got songs to play for you!

I tuned my banjo to G minor and started thinking about what dear little Buster would want to sing about. He's a dead little guy working his way from the ground up, so to speak. He's from six feet under but he's on his way out of the dirt. There's still a big wide world out there for him to enjoy and he's not going to let anything stand in his way.

Buster Bones is the creation of illustrator extraordinaire Brian Kesinger. From his mind comes a great many wonderful thing. His elaborate characters Otto & Victoria are well known amongst the well knowing and could quite possibly be cousins barely removed from our dear Buster.
